SOFTWARE ENGINEER

OTIV is a startup aiming to facilitate the modal shift from cars to public transport in major cities. To achieve that goal we are implementing hardware and corresponding software into current infrastructures to make vehicles on rails safer, more reliable and ready for future needs. We are looking for colleagues to join our young startup company to change the world and work on cutting-edge assistant systems and full self-driving technology!


Responsibilities

  • Improve our perception and control models

  • Solve different computer vision, control and data problems

  • Collaborate with other top engineers to create safety critical components for our perception and control modules

  • Implement algorithms that will run in railway vehicles around the world

Qualifications

  • Proficient in Dutch or English

  • You have a deep understanding of computer science, software design and/or robotics

  • Master or PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Robotics, similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience

  • 2 - 4 years work experience in one of these fields

  • Proficient in C/C++

  • Experience in most of the following fields, languages and frameworks​:

    • Python

    • OpenCV

    • Docker

    • Unix based OS / Terminal Commands

    • Version control (git)

  • Experience in one or more of the following fields, languages and frameworks is a plus:​

    • AWS

    • Tensorflow or PyTorch

  • Build robust solutions to cutting-edge driving problems


Bonus qualifications

  • Experience in at least one of: robotics research in motion planning and control (e.g., trajectory optimization, planning under uncertainty, probabilistic robotics, optimal control, guidance, navigation and control, etc.), data analysis at scale

  • Experience solving software problems using geometry and linear algebra

  • Strong analytical background in control theory, vehicle modelling, mathematics

  • Background in formal methods for software development and verification

  • Strong software engineering skills for high integrity software/feature development
